Our other birds.

In addition to our cockatiels, we currently have three other species of birds here at Dreamcatchers. Green Cheek Conures, a Ducorp Cockatoo and an African Grey.

Our Second species is the Green Cheek Conure. One pair, pictured here, have come from the wonderful folks at Something Cheeky.

"Tristan" - Cinnamon split Turquoise Male and "Isoulde" - Turquoise Hen
Tristan and Izzy had some gorgeous babies this spring and we have held one back to show.

UPDATE - 5/24/14 - Our beautiful pair Tristan and Isoulte were stolen yesterday from a locked flight cage in our fenced yard. I am extremely saddened by the loss and as a result, we have had to increase our protection and will no longer allow visits by outsiders.

Their baby Sansa (Cinnamon turquoise) is the lone baby from the pair that I kept. We added a new young male as her partner named Tyrion (Turquoise Yellow sided split cinnamon). Tyrion has come from my good friend Denise Crisp and he and Sansa are already the best of friends. These two are just youngsters at this time so we will not see babies from them until next year. Sansa and Tyrion were recently shown at the NAPS show in Charlotte NC in April. Both were awarded Best Novice awards and Tyrion placed 3rd out of 51 entries under Deb Dollar to receive his very first bench win points toward his championship.

Due to the loss of Tristan and Izzy, dear friends have gotten together to help us replace our missing pair. The wonderful folks at Something Cheeky will be sending us a brother to Tristan and the folks at KaJe Aviary will be sending us a new girlfriend for him. As soon as they arrive, we will update the site with their photos and names. We are very excited about their arrival which should be some time this summer. We plan to work exclusively with the Turquoise and Turquiose split mutations and will post photos of them as soon as they have gotten settled. All our green cheek babies are banded with the North American Parrot Society.

Our other resident's name is Pen and he is a beautiful Ducorps Cockatoo.

Pen arrived in March of 2013. While you can't tell from the photo, he has yellow under his crest and pale salmon pink down feathers close to his body. He, like our resident CAG Tumba, are pets and we have no plans on breeding him or her. Although we would love to have the larger species of birds, both Tumba and Pen are happier having the life of a spoiled pet. Pen has been an amazing addition and loves to dance. He adores Rock, Classical and Pop music!

And the last species of bird that we have here at Dreamcatchers is the Congo African Grey.

Our resident CAG Tumba is a very special, very spoiled girl. She is a rescue and has been with us for over 10 years. A chronic plucker, Tumba has come a LONG way. She used to be completely bald from the neck down. We have worked with her and with the exception of her chest, she has feathers and has even taken her first flight in 9 years at the end of 2012. As stated earlier, we do not have any plans to breed her. She is an amazing bird and has taught us so much.
